Umpqua Broccoli
Umpqua Broccoli
This broccoli has a particularly short season which allows for a nice early harvest of something substantial and green which we all crave coming into the spring. Large primary heads with good side shoot production. Try planting fennel and cilantro at the same time as the broccoli so that they bloom as the summer heat comes on and the broccoli mature. These flowers of these companion species can attract beneficial insects to help combat the perennial issue of aphids in the brassicas during summer heat.

Why choose locally grown, regionally adapted seeds?
✿ Our seeds are intentionally bred to maximize resilience, be resistant to pests and diseases, produce vigorously, and taste delicious.
✿ That means our seeds come from plants grown right here and have started the process of acclimating to this region, which makes them easier to grow.
✿ We aim to work our land in a way that honors our human and more-than-human kin in the water, soil, and air.
