Papery and ruffled petals that are a stunning light to dark grey with a periwinkle cast. Early blooming shirley poppies do well in the Methow if you take care to sow them early (or in the fall) and keep them wet until they germinate. Its a little puzzle to pick them out of the weeds, but if you pick correctly, you will be richly rewarded.
